Eve of New Year's Eve Gala Concert

About the Concert:

This concert will take place on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at a private residence in Mendocino.

Fort Bragg Center for the Arts will once again present a celebration acknowledging our donors, subscribers, and volunteers. The late afternoon gala includes a full concert with some of your favorite musicians, followed by a seasonal supper and wine at the Goodmans' home in Mendocino. It's the gala way to end the year!

Performers:

To be announced in your invitation (which you'll receive if you're a donor or subscriber).

Cost:

$10 to subscribers and donors; $55 otherwise – subscribe to the Music Series or get individual tickets.

"Russian Favorites" Concert

About the Concert:

This concert will take place on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at 3 PM at Preston Hall, 44831 Main Street, Mendocino, CA 95460.

FBCA Music Series presents a violin-piano duo comprising Ukranian violinist Igor Veligan and pianist Natsuki Fukasawa in a program of Russian favorites.

Mr. Veligan settled in Sacramento, California, after a career in many different parts of the world. He teaches at the University of the Pacific and is active in orchestras as concertmaster or principal violist. He also performs as a chamber musician with the New Pacific Trio, the L’Estro Armonico String Quartet, the Arlekin String Quartet, and the Argenta Trio.

Ms. Fukasawa who has been touted for her virtuosity as well as her clear, delicate touch, recently delighted Mendocino coast audiences with her sparkling performance as soloist with the Symphony of the Redwoods. Her brilliant recital two years ago for the FBCA Music Series left us wanting more.

Schuchmann-Cionco Concert

About the Concert:

This concert will take place on Sunday, March 21, 2010 at 3 PM at Preston Hall, 44831 Main Street, Mendocino, CA 95460.

This fabulous duo needs no introduction after last year's sold out concert as well as Mr Schuchmann’s moving performance of the Haydn concerto with the Symphony of the Redwoods. The duo will perform works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Arvo Pärt, Ernest Bloch, and Leoš Janáček.

Cellist Burke Schuchmann and pianist Richard Cionco will perform.

He'll perform works by Franz Schubert, Ernest Bloch, and Oleg Felzer as well as the premiere of a new work that Mr. Levin has composed especially for this concert. This concert is sponsored by Mr. Levin's former teacher, Bob Slaughter.

Vinca Quartet Concert

About the Concert:

This concert will take place on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at 3 PM at First Presbyterian Church, 367 South Sanderson Way, Fort Bragg, CA 95437.

This exciting young quartet was first-place winner in the 2008 International Chamber Music Competition and has performed extensively in the East including in the Carnegie Recital Hall. The New York Times hailed the quartet as "stunning" and "musicians worth keeping an eye on." They'll perform quartets by Beethoven (Op. 131), Schubert, Zemlinsky, and Mozart.

Violinist Jessica Tong, violinist Aaron Requiro, violist Laura Seay, and cellist An-Lin Bardin.

Wilder-Bongers-Ashens Concert

This trio will perform duets from the operatic repertoire including the duet from Richard Strauss's "Ariadne auf Naxos."
